A criminal, who came out of jail after serving six years of imprisonment in a robbery case, was arrested allegedly for murder in Dwarka on Tuesday, the police said on Wednesday.
On Diwali (November 7), the police received a PCR call from Uttam Nagar’s Hastsal Road stating that two men were lying injured. A team reached the spot and rushed the victims to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
“The injured were identified as Abdul and Azaad. Azaad, who sustained four bullet injuries, died during treatment,” said a police officer. Based on Abdul’s complaint, a murder case was registered. He allegedly told the police that they were attacked by Kaushar, younger brother of one criminal Guddu, who operates a gang. During investigation, it was found that Kaushar was released from jail just a month ago. The victims are associated with Mohammed Gauri gang, the police said, adding that both these gangs often fight with each other to establish supremacy in the area.
Establish supremacy
“Following a tip-off, Kaushar was arrested from Vipin Garden. He wanted to ascertain his supremacy in the area and roamed in and around Uttam Nagar with a pistol,” the officer added. On Diwali, he was standing on the road with some people and talking loudly when Azaad objected to his tone. The duo then got into an argument following which Kaushar fired at him, the police added.
