Macro outlook for India is improving due to fall in oil prices, said Tushar Pradhan, CIO-India of HSBC Global AMC, adding that "things are in a lot better shape than before".
"Valuation picture is better right now versus the start of this year," he said.
On National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) cases, Pradhan said, “The expectation at the start of the NCLT procedure were very high and people expected things to fall into places quickly as possible, knowing that this process is lot different and it’s very progressive. However, one has to realise that all of these things do take their own time, each of the issues are separate and specific to each case."
Talking about banking sector, he said, “Now a lot of maturity has set in, there has been a lot of changes in terms of how each of us now define these banks. So, I would think it's little early to say what the new picture which has emerged is. I do not think there is much more definition than was maybe 6 months ago. I think everyone is evolving to set up a model for themselves to become the player of market share in this space."
According to him, one has to be focus on individual strategies in different banks.
