Meal delivery service Deliveroo arrived in Australia three years ago and since that time it has connected millions of customers to local eateries.

Matt, from Brisbane, also prefers to order in and in the past 1,095 days has placed 753 orders.

One very ravenous shopper in Sydney placed an order for $5,500 worth of Chinese food in one sitting. There was so much food that the products had to be delivered by 29 riders.

But Chinese food doesn't rank in the top five favourite dishes we eat according to the brand, with Australians much preferring burgers, fried chicken and shakes.

Deliveroo's most ordered cuisine is American, followed by Italian, Mexican, Japanese and finally Thai food.

While those choices have been analysed based on the national average, each state has a varied approach to mealtime.

NSW patrons are the healthiest by Deliveroo standards and are most likely to order a poke bowl or salad.

Meanwhile in the ACT residents are more likely to order KFC, and Victorians to add an extra serving of guacamole to their delivery.

Ultimately the company plans to reach more regional areas as the time passes, but for now are pleasantly servicing the inner city regions of our states and territories.
