On the basis of data from the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) point prevalence survey (PPS) of health-care-associated infections and antimicrobial use in 2011–12,1 Alessandro Cassini and colleagues2 estimated the burden of disease due to infections with 16 antibiotic resistance-bacterium combinations in 2015 in the EU or European Economic Area (EEA).2 Switzerland is not an EU or EEA country and, thus, was not part of this project.
