BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: Police on Wednesday finalized arrangements for the third edition of the All-India Police Judo Cluster, which will kick off in Cuttack from Thursday and end on November 19.

As many as 1,200 players and 300 officials and trainers from 33 teams - consisting of the central paramilitary forces and state police organisations - will participate in the event. The teams will compete in four disciplines - judo, gymnastics, taekwondo and wushu, DGP R P Sharma told the media in Cuttack.

State police will be organising the event for the first time. They have chosen Olly - an Olive Ridley turtle - as the mascot of the event. Olly was the mascot for the Asian Athletics Championship as well.

The All-India Police Judo Cluster will be held at two venues in Cuttack - J N Indoor Stadium and Sachin Tendulkar Indoor Hall at Barabati Stadium. A control-room has been set up at the state police headquarters for coordination. Since players and officials from different states will participate in the championship, Sharma has asked the officers to work with sincerity and seriousness to ensure its success.
