Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Institutes have been asked to apply online for national awards to be given by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj next year on the occasion of National Panchayat Day.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar Thursday revealed that the award would be given to one zila parishad, two panchayat samitis, three gram panchayats and one gram sabha of the state. Besides, the Union government will also award the best panchayat of the state, he added.
Kanwar appealed to the pradhans and secretaries of all the gram panchayats of the state to apply online on "http://panchayatawards.gov.in/" for these awards.
The last date to apply has been extended up to November 22.
