D-Street Buzz: Nifty IT outperforms led by Tech Mahindra; Adani Transmission spikes 8%

The breadth of the market favoured the declines with 730 stocks advancing and 935 declining while 393 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 1008 stocks advanced, 1271 declined and 127 remained unchanged.

The Indian stock market has managed to stay in the green with the Nifty50 up 38 points, trading at 10,614 while the Sensex gained 140 points at 35,282.

Nifty IT is the outperforming sector, up 1.5 percent led by HCL Tech, Infibeam, Tech Mahindra and Wipro.

From the auto space, the top gainers included Tata Motors, Tata Motors DVR, Hero Moto, Eicher Motors and Maruti Suzuki.

Selective realty stocks are also buzzing with gains from Oberoi Realty, Godrej Properties and Sunteck Realty.

From the banking space YES Bank fell over 8 percent on the back of resignation of Non-Executive (Independent) Part-time Chairman of the bank. On the other hand, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, IDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top gainers.

From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers were Max Financial Services, Adani Transmission and Oberoi Realty while the top losers were NBCC, PAGE Industries and KIOCL.

From the BSE smallcap space, the top gainers were Sreeleathers which spiked 15 percent followed by Ujjivan Financial Services and DEEP Industries.

The top gainers from NSE include Tata Motors, Hero Moto, Titan Company, Tech Mahindra and Adani Ports.

The top losers included Grasim Industries, YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, UltraTech Cement and Sun Pharma.

The most active stocks are YES Bank, Reliance Industries, Maruti Suzuki, Sun Pharma and Axis Bank.

Aarti Industries, Atul and Newgen Software are some of the few stocks which hit new 52-week high on the NSE.

33 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like Empee Distilleries, Hotel Leela Venture, Rallis India and Somany Ceramics among others.
