2020 Porsche 911 Teased In Eighth-Gen Guise Before Reveal – See Anything Different?

Porsche has just released a brief teaser video of the eighth-generation Porsche 911 ahead of the vehicle’s expected global premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.

Unlike previous iterations of the famed German sports car, Porsche has been very open with the testing and development of the new 992 and hasn’t allowed our spy photographers to have all the fun. Consequently, a selection of images released of prototypes already give us an excellent idea of what the finished product will look like.

The teaser video in question provides quick glimpses of the numerous styling changes present both inside and outside the new 911. Among the most obvious points of difference from the outgoing model are revised headlights, new taillights that include a light bar stretching the width of the vehicle, and a tweaked tachometer.

Though, as anyone following the history of the entire series can easily deduct, for the most part, however, the new Porsche 992-generation 911 looks very similar to the most recent 991-generation model.

While it may not look dramatically different from the 911 we love, the new 992 model will benefit from a plethora of upgrades to make it faster and more dynamic than ever before.

The first two variants we expect to see will be the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S. According to reports, these two models will be powered by revised twin-turbo six-cylinder engines, tweaked to produce roughly 385 hp and 450 hp respectively. After these models launch, the usual array of Cabriolet and Targa models will land in dealerships before Porsche begins unleashing its ‘GT’ models.

Our spy photographers have snapped the latest-generation 911 GT3 on numerous occasions and confirmed that it will retain a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine that could swell beyond 4.0-liters in capacity. The car may even have up to 542 hp.
