No fairytale ending? Bride and Prejudice edges out The Bachelorette in the ratings for the first time as the Ten dating show's audience numbers continue to dwindle ahead of finale
The Bachelorette has long been one of the jewels in Network Ten's crown as one part of the popular dating show franchise.
But Ali Oetjen's season continues to tank in the ratings, with rival Bride and Prejudice overtaking it with more audience numbers for the first time.
The Channel Seven offering pulled in 623,000 metro viewers on Wednesday, while The Bachelorette had a slightly smaller audience of 618,000 on the same night.

It's no doubt a disappointing result for Network Ten, with the show's finale airing Thursday night.
And it seems the show's production company, Warner Bros, is reportedly pulling out all stops in a last-ditch effort to turn the numbers around for the final episode.
On Wednesday, fans were left stunned by a photo that showed the program's two male finalists in Fiji, making it seem as if Ali Oetjen has ended up heartbroken and alone.
But one day later, a insider told Daily Mail Australia that Warner Bros. had flown the final two suitors Taite Radley and Todd King to Fiji where Bachelor in Paradise is currently filming.
The source claims the stunt was done in a 'desperate bid to boost ratings'.

As The Bachelorette continues to flop in the ratings, other shows are being given a chance to shine.
Topping the ratings leaderboard in terms of non-news shows was the ABC's Hard Quiz with 710,000 viewers.
Also faring well was Shaun Micallef's Mad as Hell with 703,000 viewers, which also airs on the public broadcaster.
On the other end of the scale, Network Ten's Blind Date is so far a flop, with just 284,000 people tuning in.

This year's season of The Bachelorette is on track to be the lowest rated in the Australian franchise's history.
It will likely fare worse than Georgia Love's season in 2016, which only managed to attract an audience of 972,000 as she chose Lee Elliott over Matty Johnson
Sophie Monk, who fronted last season, was the highest rated, with 1.640 million people watching her crush Jarrod Woodgate's heart in favour of pub baron Stu Laundy.
