With support pouring in favour of the ruling on Section 377, India has witnessed a new ray of hope for the often discriminated and subjugated sections of society. People with sexual orientations and identities different from us are not wary anymore of coming out and proudly revealing their true self. It’s time we accepted, acknowledged and celebrated them and that’s what MTV India has gone ahead and done.

For its show Elovator Pitch, the makers have broken the clutter and brought homosexuals on national television, for the first time ever. The speed dating reality show will showcase people with different sexual orientations coming and pitching a date to people of the same sex. Elovator Pitch that focuses on guys and girls pitching a date to their counterparts in an elevator, adds a unique twist to the concept and welcomes young hearts across all walks of life to experience the flirtatious ride like never before.

As the first reality show on national television, dealing with a mainstream subject like dating, Elovator Pitch goes beyond the obvious and invites homosexuals to be a part of the show. Hosted by VJ Cyrus Sahukar and VJ Gaelyn Mendonca, the show and MTV as a brand celebrate equality of all genders with love and pride. The upcoming episode of this dating reality show will be a tribute to the LGBTQ Community. Elovator Pitch will give a chance to the men to impress people of the same gender. An elevator ride to the floor above is all they will have, 30 seconds to showcase the best of themselves and move on to the next round.

Commenting on the special episode of the show, host Gaelyn said, “With this special concept, we have upped the ante as India’s first dating reality show to have people from all walks of life coming and exploring beautiful bonds. Elovator Pitch brings with it a heavy dose of comedy and love and I’m sure this episode will be a treat to watch for the audience. I’m proud to be a part of the show that is creating history on national television.”

Tune-in to MTV Elovator Pitch, every Friday at 7 pm.
