‘Little leaders’ steal the show on Children’s Day

The start of a week-long programme to enhance awareness against child abuse marked the Children’s Day celebrations here on Wednesday. District Collector Amit Meena flagged off a rally as part of the inaugural.

Higher Secondary School, Malappuram, presided.

Speaker Mayookha Anil from St. Gemma’s Higher Secondary School,

Malappuram, administered the Children’s Day pledge.

Special assemblies

All schools in the district conducted special assemblies and administered the Children’s Day pledge. Malappuram municipal chairperson C.H. Jameela gave away prizes. Child

Welfare Committee (CWC) chairman M. Manikandan released a Children’s Day stamp.

Malabar Special Police (MSP) Assistant Commandant Habeeb Rahman inaugurated a pink band campaign at St. Gemma’s Girls Higher Secondary School, Malappuram, with the message of strengthening children against abuses.

Headmistress K.V. Suzi presided. All children and teachers were given pink wristbands. The Childline is organizing the pink band campaign in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) units in schools.
