Puneri Paltan near yet far as Telugu Titans steal win

Mumbai:  Puneri Paltan came near but still remained far as they went down to Telugu Titans 25-28 during the Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 match here at Dome Arena of the NSCI Indoor Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Captain Abozar Mohajermighani gave Telugu Titans their first point for the night as they looked to  walk home with full points. Nilesh Salunke added some quick points to the Titan’s tally picking up 2 points which was followed by some good work by Krushna Madane who returned with an ankle grab as the score read 1-4 with the Titans looking in control.

Meanwhile Akshay Jadhav opened the account for Puneri Paltan with a successful raid followed by a super tackle.  Later Sandeep Narwal displayed a good game scoring some important points for the Paltans as they equalised with the score reading 6-6.

This was the time that Krushna Madane struck for the Titans as he scored a tackle point making it 6-7 as they took the lead. Rahul Chaudhari helped the Titans to increase the lead when he squashed Sandeep Narwal scoring an all out on the Pune outfit as the score read 7-11. Nilesh Salunke and Rahul Chaudhari came out with successful raids as the Titans raced ahead.

The score read 11-17 at the stroke of half time with Puneri Paltan still to make an impact and catch up 
with the Titans.

In the second half, Rahul Chaudhari started by scoring a point for the Titans as he escaped from Vinod Kumar who is a former Telugu Titans player. Abozar Mohajermighani and Farhad Rahimi Milghardan showed some good form,  scoring successive points as the Titans dominated proceedings.

Meanwhile Monu and captain Girish Ernak scored some quick points keeping Puneri Paltans alive in the match as the score read 17-26 with the Pune outfit still trailing.
     
With three minutes to go for the second half to end, the score read 20-27 with Puneri Paltan trying their best to get back in the game, for which all eyes seemed to be on Monu who was the crowd favourite.

In the end Puneri Paltan managed to get close but seemed a little short, as the final score read 25-28 with the Titans walking back with the win.
