CHANDIGARH: Former Haryana CM and president of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Om Prakash Chautala has not only removed Ajay Singh Chautala from the office of the secretary general of the state unit of the party, but also expelled him from its primary membership. Ajay has been accused of activities that vitiated the party discipline and weakened the cohesiveness, unity and integrity of the party.
Confirming this, Ashok Arora, state president of the party said he had been asked to announce the decision of Om Prakash Chautala. "I continue to adhere to the principle where no individual or member of my family is above the discipline of the party. I have no hesitation in choosing the party over my family members," Arora read out the letter written by O P Chautala.
Chautala senior has also accused Ajay Singh Chautala of trying to run a parallel party organisation by going beyond his powers and calling an unauthorised meeting of the party at Jind on November 17, 2018.
Arora pointed out that the meeting called by Ajay Singh Chautala was unconstitutional and illegal since according to the party constitution Article IX, Section 5, “Any general or special meeting of the state executives shall not be convened without prior written approval of the national president. Any violation thereof shall invite disciplinary action by the national president.”
