Delhi man dupes Sonipat resident of Rs 1.82 crore, arrested by Haryana cops

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Police on Tuesday arrested a person for allegedly duping a Sonipat resident of Rs 1.82 crore on the pretext of making him as the distributor of a mobile phone company in Haryana and Punjab.
Accused have been identified as Deepak, a resident of Pitampura, Delhi. He was booked in a cheating case on the complaint of Jitender Singh, a resident of Sonipat.
Jitender told police on May 4 that Deepak had duped him of Rs 1.82 crore on the pretext of appointing him as the distributor of Josh Brand Mobile Phone Company in Haryana and Punjab. Acting on the complaint, police have registered a case in city Police Station, Sonipat.
It is also revealed that arrested accused has already been involved in 8 similar incidents of fraud. He had also committed a fraud of Rs 100 crore in Punjab National Bank, Delhi. The accused has been taken on three-day police remand after producing him before the court.
Meanwhile, DGP BS Sandhu appreciated the efforts being made by Sonipat police for their relentless efforts for reducing the crime rate significantly.
