While hearing a petition filed by one KK Ramesh from Madurai, the Madurai bench of Madras High Court on Wednesday questioned the electoral officer about the steps taken to conduct by-elections in Thiruvarur and Thiruparankundram constituencies.

The petitioner filed a petition in the Madurai bench of Madras High Court seeking necessary actions to conduct by-election in  Thiruvarur and Thiruparankundram constituencies.

The petition was heard by justice Sasidharan and Adikesavan who ordered the election commission to file an affidavit containing the time table and the actions taken so far to conduct by-elections.
