The India FinTech Awards (IFTA) aim to promote innovation and business excellence in the fintech sector. Fintech firms get a chance to showcase their disruptive products, combine it with a sales pitch and engage a curated audience of investors, bankers, entrepreneurs, media and corporate leaders.
After 20 product demos by leading fintech firms from all across the globe, one startup is selected as the Fintech Startup of the Year at India FinTech Awards 2018. The winning startup shall get an opportunity to demo at LendIt Fintech 2019 in San Francisco, USA.
In addition to the interesting demos, there will be 3 panel discussions this year-
- Latest fintech trends enabling global financial inclusion.
- How Big Data and AI will shape fintech products?
- Future of Financial Services: Fintech Or Techfin?
Few of the eminent dignitaries who will be part of the panels are, Mr Jitendra Gupta, MD, PayU, Mr Deepak Sharma, Chief Digital Officer, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Ms Louise Smith, Fintech envoy of Scotland. The panels are going to be enthralling discussions for the audience. Technology has revolutionized the way financial services are being delivered to the masses. Mr Anil Pinapala, CEO of Flexsalary, said “AI in FinTech will unleash access to credit – even to those with limited means or limited history, using scale of data. Lending is changing to rely on data science to achieve a level-playing platform where automated real-time credit decisions will be based on intent and ability as the drivers and technology will allow scaled distribution of highly customized lending products and a personalized non-additive customer experience”.
IFTA received 250+ applications out of which 20 startups from 10 countries have been shortlisted to demo in front of an esteemed panel of judges on 30th November, 2018 at Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai.
Shortlisting the startups was really challenging, given the superior quality of entries. IFTA Strategic Partner helped score each startup across several parameters. Additionally, feedback was sought from other event partners, startup accelerators and experts from the fintech sector to evaluate the applications.
The Government of Maharashtra is the Chief Strategic Partner for India FinTech Awards (IFTA) 2018. Sougata Basu, Founder, CashRich, said “IFTA will be a great platform to network with thought-leaders in fintech, explore collaboration opportunities and learn about the latest innovations in this industry. It is very encouraging for fintech startups to see the efforts of Government of Maharashtra to establish a Global Fintech Hub in Mumbai.”
