OnePlus is currently beta testing Android 9.0 Pie based HydrogenOS ROM on OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T in China, according to a report by XDA Developers. OnePlus has been known to release any beta update it is testing on HydrogenOS to its OxygenOS counterpart soon, so consumers outside of China might have to wait a bit to gain access to Android Pie on their devices.
OnePlus CEO and co-founder recently announced that the company had hit a snag and would be delaying Android 9.0 Pie releases on OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 3, and OnePlus 3T. No specific date was declared by the company after the announcement of this delay. This could mean that the company might be delaying the releases by some weeks or to early 2019.

According to the report, a couple of screenshots of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T devices running Android 9 Pie based HydrogenOS surfaced online. The screenshots were posted on OnPlus’s official Chinese forum website. There is still no information regarding the Android 9.0 Pie update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 5.1.7 OTA update to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The company has stated that this update will allow both the devices to connect to various Bluetooth devices at once. The update also brings various bug fixes and system improvements. Additionally, it is packaged with Android’s October security patch.
