Telangana Congress released its second list consisting of 10 candidates on Wednesday morning.
The name that notably missed from the list is of Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former Telangana Pradesh Congress Committtee (TPCC) president who is seeking renomination from the Jangoan constituency. Telangana Jana Samithi chief, M. Kodandaram, is apparently seeking the same constituency and that is why it is kept in abeyance.
A former MLA and senior leaders have found place in the new list.
Gandra Venkataramana Reddy is nominated from Bhupapally where he will take on Speaker Madhusudhana Chary. High Court lawyer K.K. Mahender Reddy is pitted against the IT Minister, K T Rama Rao, who is also the son of the caretaker Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao. Mr. Mahender Reddy lost to Mr Rao with a few hundreds of margin in 2009 but Mr. Rao won with sizeable margin in 2014.
Other prominent names in the list are Dasoju Sravan (Khairatabad), chief spokesperson of the Telangana Congress, former MLA Vishnuvardhan Reddy (Jubilee Hills), and Kichennagaari Lakshma Reddy (Medchal). Ramesh Rathi, who joined Congress from the TRS is fielded from the Khanapur reserved constituency.
