President Kovind to attend education events at Pusa, Patna

PATNA: President Ram Nath Kovind is arriving in Bihar on Thursday to award degrees and medals to students of Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University and National Institute of Technology (NIT) at their separate convocations at Pusa in Samastipur and Patna respectively.'
According to official sources, the President will arrive in a special flight at the Jaya Prakash Narain International Airport at Patna around 10am. From the airport, he will fly to Pusa in a chopper. Governor Lalji Tandon will accompany him to Pusa.
The sources said the President along with the governor would fly back and reach Patna around 1pm. After lunch at the Raj Bhavan, he will drive to the Gyan Bhavan near Gandhi Maidan in Patna around 4pm.
The NIT convocation will be held at Gyan Bhavan where the President will stay for around an hour. He will leave for the airport around 5pm and fly back to the national capital.
More than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in Patna and Samatipur for the VVIP movement. Apart from them, Anti-Terrorism Squad and Special Protection Group commandos will be guarding the entire route marked for the VVIP movement.
A dummy cavalcade rehearsal each was conducted at Patna and Samastipur on Wednesday evening. “Common public won’t face any hardship during the VVIP movement in Patna,” Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said and added traffic movement would be stopped for the purpose only for few minutes.
Samastipur SP Harpreet Kaur said SPG commandos had already reached the district. Besides, more than 1,000 police personnel will remain deployed for the President’s security, she added.
