TPCC President faces flak for alleged 'dynasty politics'

A day after the released their first list of 65 candidates for the forthcoming assembly polls in the state, the opposition parties have accused Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) N of practicing dynasty

Apart from this, two more tickets have been allotted to senior Congress Komatireddy Venkat Reddy's brothers from Nalgonda area.

In the wake of the same, few Congress leaders are protesting at Telangana's Gandhi Bhavan for giving tickets to the members of the same family. The workers also criticised for allegedly ignoring the party workers who worked at the grassroots level for the state.

Terming the Congress as a "dynastic party", said that there is nothing in the party that is in the spirit of democracy in any way.

"Every state unit of the is the replica of Gandhi-Nehru family at the center. There is no big surprise when we see how tickets are distributed in Where can we find that one family rules for five generations, they have made a mockery of Indian democracy," he alleged.

While defending the party's move, TPCC Gudur Narayana told ANI that Uttam Kumar and his wife are both sitting MLAs, and were hence granted tickets to contest.

"The Congress is the most in the country. In BJP there are only two bosses and Narendra Modi, but in the Congress, every small is an important person. All the sitting MLAs in the state were allotted tickets," he said.

The state will go to polls on December 7, and results will be announced on December 11.

The 119-member assembly was dissolved on September 6, 2018, on the recommendation of the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led government.
