AC safari ride rolled out

Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi on Tuesday launched a newly procured air-conditioned van for safari rides at the Nehru Zoological Park.

He flagged off the van at the entrance of the safari park, and himself took a ride along with other officials. He also flagged off a 14-seater and five 10-seater battery operated vehicles for taking visitors around the zoo. With this, the number of battery-operated vehicles has gone up to 49, a statement from the zoo read.

Children from the Government Primary School, Tadban, took the first ride on the vehicles after their launch.

Mr. Joshi also launched a booking counter for toy train, and visited the mouse deer breeding facility at the zoo.

Principal Secretary Ajay Misra, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests P.Raghuveer, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Munindra and Director, Zoo Parks, Sidhanand Kukrety accompanied Mr.Joshi.
