With just six weeks left until Christmas, many Australian parents are racing to the shops to ensure they get their hands on the hottest 'must-have' gifts for their kids.

So to make the process a little easier, Hitwise has released the most searched for toys on eBay from the past week.

Topping the chart was the Nintendo Switch console which retails for $449 at Target.

The highly anticipated tech hit Australian shores two years ago but is clearly still popular with the youth, with games like The Legend of Zelda and Mario Kart the most favoured.

While it is expensive there are numerous Afterpay options for those wanting to pay it off slowly.

Second on the list are drones which have become popularised for their ability to catch stunning landscape views.
