Loma Gives Ferrari Portofino A 2.0 Styling And Performance Upgrade

If you’re into all things aftermarket, you must have heard about Loma, a Monaco-based company that has been building custom wheels since 2009.

Recently, they’ve turned their attention to offering body kits as well, and their latest project is based on the Ferrari Portofino. The LP-740 2.0 widebody kit designed by Marius Dumitrascu aims to emphasize the sporty character of the Portofino without looking excessive.

At the front, the aero package includes a new apron with more pronounced air intakes, bordered by autoclave-made carbon parts, the original Ferrari grille, and a carbon front lip (available in a matte or glossy finish).

Viewed from the side, the car looks more muscular thanks to the carbon side skirts with integrated air shaft and the 21-inch Loma GTC-SL Superlight forged wheels. Available in two designs, the rims are shod with 255/30 ZR21 tires on the front axle and 305/25 ZR21 rubber on the rear axle.

Although larger, Loma’s wheels are 20 percent lighter than the standard rims. If 21 inches is not a big enough size for some customers, Loma also offers 22-inch rear wheels. The Loma LP-740 2.0 kit for the Ferrari Portofino also includes a suspension that’s been lowered by 30mm (1.18in) at the front and 25mm (0.98in) at the rear.

As for the rear end, the kit brings a more sculpted bumper that integrates a redesigned diffuser with more powerful fins. Other updates include a carbon trim piece connecting the taillights, and a subtle boot lid spoiler.

The LP-740 moniker is a clear hint to Lamborghini, as the Portofino’s engine has been tweaked to deliver Aventador levels of performance. Thanks to modified engine software mapping and a sports exhaust system, the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine now delivers greater power and torque.

As a result, it will go from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.1 seconds, before maxing out at 342 km/h (212 mph). Loma has already started taking pre-orders for the LP-740 2.0 kit and expects the first deliveries to take place in spring of 2019.

Prices for the aero kit and wheels start from €17,490 in Germany, excluding VAT.
