Ashish Chowdhary, EVP and chief business officer of Nokia Networks, may join Apple as its India head and the announcement is expected during the current week.Chowdhary was part of Nokia’s India team that helped the phone maker in driving growth and setting up its manufacturing facility. He has headed several assignments at Nokia, including head of global services, head of Asia / Middle East, Africa and head of global sales (customer operations). At present, he is operating from London.
A senior corporate leader said that at this juncture Apple wanted to hire someone who has the understanding of both the global as well as its India operations. While Chowdhary chose not reply to WhatsApp message, Apple India remained silent despite several reminders.
