Will I get a cow, asks Asaduddin Owaisi; BJP says why not

File photo of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi HYDERABAD: Soon after the BJP promised that it would distribute one lakh cows every year if it rides to power in Telangana, MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi wondered if he and, for that matter, Muslims will also be given cows.
"Mera pehla sawal hai, mere ko bhi denge ya nahi denge (my first question is whether I will get the cow or not). I found out from cattle grazers that each cow requires 16 kg of fodder every day. If one lakh cows are distributed, the state will require 16 lakh kg of fodder every day. Where do they intend to get the fodder from," he said while addressing a public meeting in Baba Nagar in Chandrayangutta constituency on Sunday.
Owaisi said farmers are worried about fodder and charged that the intention of the BJP was not to help the people but to instigate enmity among them.
Meanwhile, responding to Owaisi's poser, BJP state manifesto committee chairman and MLA NVSS Prabhakar said the party would distribute cows to anybody who considers cow a holy animal and worship it. "Whether it is Owaisi or KCR, we will distribute them," he said. "Our plan is to distribute 3,000 cows in each district during festivals," he added.
