Apple is offering free repair for 13-inch MacBook Pros which had a problem with the SSD.
Apple has admitted that some 13-inch MacBook Pro (non-touch bar variant) with 128GB and 256GB storage, which were sold between June 2017 and June 2018 have a defect with the SSD or the Solid-state Drive. The company states that some variants were shipped with faulty SSDs, which could result in data loss and failure of the drive.
To curb this Apple has started a free repair programme for the device. To check if a 13-inch MacBook Pro (non touch bar) is eligible for the programme, consumers will have to head to Apple’s support website and input the serial number of their device.

If the page shows that the consumer is eligible for a free repair, they can then head over to an authorised Apple Service centre for getting their device repaired free of cost.
Eligible consumers will be eligible to get their devices repaired free of cost for up to three years after the first sale of the unit. Apple states that consumers will first have to get any user damage fixed before submitting their devices for repair as it is not covered under the programme.
If a consumer has already gotten their device fixed by paying for it, they can contact Apple for a full refund.
