Surat-3 caught with three pistols, 36 cartridges

Picture used for representational purpose onlySURAT: Three persons were arrested from Unn area of the city by police and three country-made pistols and 36 cartridges seized from their possession on Tuesday. The three persons were produced in a court by police which remanded them in custody for a day.
An offence has been registered against Babu Ghani Pathan, Abdul Gaffar and Rais Patel, residents of Unn, at Sachin GIDC police station. The accused said they had purchased the arms and the ammunition from a ‘sardarji’. Police said they will try to find during the remand of the accused from whom they had purchased the three pistols and the 36 cartridges.
