A woman living in Taiwan was left in tears after she spotted her mother pictured at their home in Google Street View, four years after she died.

Much to her surprise, net user Danny Wu was able to find her mother tending to the plants on their porch, immortalised on the search engine's satellite imagery.

'I've been looking for you for so long, Mum,' Wu said in her Facebook post sharing the snapshots. 'Turns out you have been home all this time.'

'I went on Google Street View ... and I actually found my mum,' she said in her post on Sunday.

The pictures show the woman, with her face muzzed, sitting on the porch of their home, appearing to be looking at the Google Street View car as it drove past. 

'Mum, nothing much, we're all doing well,' the elated daughter wrote. 'It's just that we miss you very much.'

Wu, 43, told MailOnline that her mother had passed away from colon cancer in September 2014. 

'I just wanted to cry when I saw her,' she said. 'I never thought I'd be able to see my mother again.'

'It was a complete surprise to see her right in front of our home,' she added. 

'I went on Google Street View ... and I actually found my mum,' she said in her post on Sunday

Another user, Shengchieh Chen, said he found the scooter that his grandfather used to ride outside of their home on Google Street views

Wu's touching post has moved many net users to tears, with many attempting to find their loved ones on Google Street View as well.

'Your mother has been right beside you all along,' user Chen Pinwen commented.

User Miao Miao said: 'Ever since my dad passed away, I've gone on Google Street View to look at him standing in our courtyard.'

Another user, Shengchieh Chen, said he found the scooter that his grandfather used to ride outside of their home.  

'I'd also like to find my dad, but sadly he isn't there,' Huiling Fan wrote.

'Chiu Chia-hong' said: 'In the 2009 version, I could see our family's cute mongrel Luka. That silly dog. I miss him.'
