No note found; no complaint by kin

A 25-year-old woman allegedly jumped from the 22nd floor of a society in Greater Noida West on Monday, the police said.

The woman was suffering from a mental ailment, they said. She did not leave behind any note.

The police said that the deceased originally lived in Noida Sector 63 with her family.

She had been undergoing treatment for depression after getting a divorce from her husband in 2016.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. on Monday. The woman had come to the Greater Noida flat on the 22nd floor, which was owned by her family.

Construction work

“The family members told the police that they had come to visit their flat where some construction work was going on. The woman jumped off when the other members of her family had gone to the society office and she was alone in the flat,” said Anil Kumar Shai, Station House Officer, Bisarkh police station.

Mr. Shai also said that the woman was declared dead on arrival after she was rushed to a nearby hospital. He said that the family of the deceased has not filed a complaint in the matter.

‘Accidental death’

“Since no note left behind by the woman was found during the primary investigation, the case has been recorded as a accidental death,” Mr. Shai added.
