Lucknow: Drive on potholed roads for 5 months

LMC has set aside Rs 80 crore for repair of 210 roads in cityLUCKNOW: Be ready to drive on the broken roads for another five months as Lucknow Municipal Corporation has set March deadline to make roads potholes free.
The corporation has set aside Rs 80 crore for repair of 210 roads stretching to around 174km with fresh bitumen cover.
For now, patch work of 419 roads stretching for 133km will be done.
Municipal commissioner Indramani Tripathi said, "We have prepared a master plan of Rs 18 crore for patch work. The work has started simultaneously in all eight zones of LMC. For other roads, which need full repair and reconstruction, a sum of Rs 80 crore budget has been approved by the LMC executive committee."
LMC had set aside Rs 60 crore for road construction and repair in the current budget. The sanction of Rs 80 crore is in addition to it.
The corporation has a road network of 3,700km, including pucca, paved and unpaved roads, under its jurisdiction.
