The Congress star campaigner Vijayashanti mounted a no-holds-barred attack on the ruling TRS, accusing it of shattering the aspirations of people of Telangana, undermining the sacrifices made by scores of youth for the cause of statehood and social justice.
Addressing a public meeting at Ravinuthala village in Bonakal mandal on Monday night, the film actress turned politician slammed the TRS leadership for allegedly failing to deliver on its “multitude” of pre-poll promises during its more than four and a half years of rule.
“The TRS misrule has left farmers, students, unemployed youth, women and other marginalised sections in dire straits,” she charged slamming the persons at the helm for thrusting a “dictatorial regime” on the State and making hollow promises.
The Congress party has the calibre to realise the ideals for which Telangana was formed by UPA government under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi in 2014, she asserted, calling upon people to elect the Congress-led grand alliance candidates in the December 7 elections to usher in a “people's regime.”
Telangana Congress Campaign Committee chairman and the party candidate for Madhira Assembly constituency Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others spoke.
Earlier, she reached the venue by road at 8.30 pm, nearly four hours behind the schedule.
