Director VZ Durai is currently busy shooting for Sundar C's horror thriller film Iruttu. Talking about the film, Durai said: "Sundar C plays a police officer in the film and Sakshi plays his pair. Dhanshikaa will be seen in a pivotal role. Though Iruttu is a serious horror film, VTV Ganesh will provide comic relief".

Major portions of Iruttu have been completed in Ootty and currently, the team is camping in Surat to shoot scenes featuring Dhanshikaa. Durai says that it was Sundar C who encouraged him to make a horror thriller. "I'm not a big fan of horror films but to write the script of Iruttu, I watched a lot of films belongs this genre across the globe", said Durai but the director says he consciously avoided the usual cliches associated with horror films.

Girish Gopalakrishnan is composing the music for the film and Krishnasamy is handling the camera.
