Record 19 million tourists visited Croatia till October 2018 end

In October tourist arrivals increased by 13 per cent from October 2017. There were 997,000 arrivals and 3.4 million overnight stays in October 2018.

 

 

Istria was the most popular region followed by the Split-Dalmatia county, Kvarner, Zadar and Dubrovnik-Neretva counties.

 

 

Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Poreč, Split and Medulin were the most visited destinations so far in 2018. Germans were number one in terms of arrivals followed by Slovenes, Austrians, Poles and Czechs.

 

 

Tourism Minister Cappelli said that most of the arrivals in October came from the United States, China and South Korea. He added that Croatia will be connected with over 100 destinations throughout Europe and the world, and next year 40 million kuna will be invested in the existing airline programme.

 

Commercial accommodation facilities accounted for a total turnover of 85 per cent in first ten months.
