While being positioned as a middle trim, the S9 gets a lot of features from the top-end variant.
Mahindra's long-time bestseller -- the Scorpio is getting a new S9 variant positioned between the S7 and S11 trims. Bookings for the new variant are now open across dealerships priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
While being positioned as a middle trim, the S9 gets a lot of features from the top-end variant. The 15-inch touchscreen trickles from the S11 along with the automatic climate control and electrical outside rearview mirrors. Other features also include static bending projector headlamps, LED guide lights, idle-stop start system and GPS navigation.
In terms of safety, the SUV gets dual front airbags and ABS as standard. It continues with a 7-seat layout with two captain seats in the front a bench in the middle and two side facing seats in the back.
Mechanically the SUV remains unchanged with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 140 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission comes via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
With the Mahindra Scorpio S9 priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, it offers some solid features from the S11 variant while still being priced lower.
