Davids named as interim skipper for Paarl Rocks

Cape Town - Former Proteas batsman Henry Davids has been named as interim captain of the Paarl Rocks for the opening games of the inaugural Mzansi Super League.

The Rocks confirmed the news on their official Twitter account that Davids - who has played two ODIs for the Proteas - as their new skipper for the first two games.

Skipper Faf du Plessis is currently in Australia as the Proteas recently won the three-match ODI series with a T20I scheduled to get under way on Saturday, November 17.

Davids will lead the Rocks in their opening fixture against the Tshwane Spartans on Sunday, November 18.

The match starts at 15:30.

The Rocks are based in Boland Park with Du Plessis and West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo their marquee players.
