An Army soldier was killed and another injured Monday in the continued incidents of unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, a Defence spokesperson said.
Lance Naik Antony Sebastian KM was critically injured in the firing from across the border in Krishna Ghati sector in the evening and later succumbed, defence ministry spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said. The other soldier, who was injured in the incident, has been identified as Havildar Mari Muthu D and evacuated to the Military Hospital in Poonch, he said.
The spokesperson said that India has retaliated strongly and effectively on Pakistan army posts. Lance Naik Antony Sebastian is the third soldier to be killed in the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the LoC in the last four days. A civilian porter was also killed in the firing.

Meanwhile, BSF and Pakistani Rangers held sector commander-level meeting along the border in Suchetgarh sector Monday and decided to re-energise instant communication between field commanders, whenever required, to resolve petty matters. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and both sides committed to maintaining peace and tranquility at the international border.
