A woman took photographs of herself covered in blood and sent them to a former partner along with threats to blow herself up.

Louise Marie Powell sent the distressing messages both to Ashlea Jones and Miss Jones' foster mum Emma Louise Nield.

The 28-year-old was picked up by police and told them she had suicidal thoughts.

Officers had been called numerous times during their relationship, Flintshire magistrates heard.

She admitted two charges of sending offensive communications by social media to Ms Jones and Ms Nield and harassing the foster mum on September 10 this year.

A probation report said Powell, of High Street in Connah's Quay she accepted responsibility and had been going through a difficult period and was battling anxiety, depression and drug and alcohol issues.

Defending, Nick Cross said Powell was a vulnerable person who had been unemployed since 2016.

Magistrates gave Powell a community order with 20 days rehabilitation requirement, fined her £80, and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

She was also given a restraining order not to enter the road where Ms Jones lives, or contact her ex-partner or her foster mum for two years.
