Victim Yoginder Yadav was invited to accused’s house for home party

A 32-year-old man was found dead with bullet injury inside his friend's flat in sector 18 area of Rohini district during the wee hours of Sunday. Police said that the accused surrendered at the police station after murdering his friend. The pistol used in the crime has been recovered.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Yoginder Yadav (32), who runs a call centre, had lend money to the accused Vijay Yadav (35), who owns roadside food stalls.

"On Saturday night, the accused along with Yoginder and several other friends were having alcohol at Vijay's flat. At around 11:30 pm all the other people left the except Yoginder and the two continued to have their drinks," said a senior police officer.

Police said that the two were in an inebriated state during which the deceased asked Vijay to return his Rs 2 lakh, which he had taken a long time back.

"The two got into a scuffle and Vijay took out his pistol and shot Yoginder. Later he went to the police station and informed that he has murdered his friend. On the basis of the information provided, a team was sent to his house where the deceased was found in a pool of blood," said a senior police officer.

The deceased was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival. The body was sent for post mortem at Ambedkar Hospital. While police recovered the weapon used in the crime from the house.

Meanwhile, the neighbours claimed that they didn't hear anything and got to know about the incident after the cops reached the spot.

Police have recovered some empty cans of beer and a couple of scotch bottles from the house.

"During interrogation the accused revealed that he had taken money from the deceased and he was pressurising him to return the money so in order to get rid of him he murdered him," said a senior police officer.

The accused has been arrested under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal code and relevant sections of Arms act.

Meanwhile the family members of the accused revealed that the murder was pre planned.

"Vijay invited Yoginder while everyone in his family was away. He made him get drunk and then shot him dead," said Sunder Singh, deceased's brother in law.

Police said that the two were good friends however, there were disputes between the two other than monitory issues. Further investigation is underway.
