Avanti Feeds plunges 14% on weak Q2 numbers

Revenue was down 11 percent to Rs 754.54 crore against Rs 854 crore.

On October 4, the Sensex crashed 806 points closing at 35,169, one of the biggest falls this calendar year. Since inception, there have been 12 instances when Sensex fell more than today in absolute terms. The biggest fall in percentage terms was on April 28, 1992, the aftermath of Harshad Mehta scam, when it plunged 12.77%. The biggest intraday fall in Sensex was recorded on January 22, 2008, when it dived 2,273 points.

Share price of Avanti Feeds plunged 14 percent in the early trade on Monday after company reported weak set of numbers for the quarter ended September 2018.

The company's Q2FY19 net profit declined 60 percent to Rs 46.39 crore against Rs 116.34 crore.

Revenue was down 11 percent to Rs 754.54 crore against Rs 854 crore.

At 09:20 hrs Avanti Feeds was quoting at Rs 378, down Rs 44.65, or 10.56 percent on the BSE.

The share touched its 52-week high Rs 999.90 and 52-week low Rs 350 on 13 November, 2017 and 28 September, 2018, respectively.

Currently, it is trading 62.43 percent below its 52-week high and 7.33 percent above its 52-week low.
