The trailer of Kedarnath, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and debutant Sara Ali Khan, will be unveiled today.
As per reports, the crew decided to launch the trailer on Monday as it is considered the day of Lord Shiva. Newcomer Sara received a huge amount of appreciation when the official teaser of the film was released in October.
Kedarnath is a love story set in the backdrop of the unprecedented flash floods that ruined the Kedarnath valley in June 2013. It showcases romance and love between a Muslim porter and a Hindu pilgrim.
Objecting to the plot, a senior BJP leader recently alleged that the film hurts the sentiments of Hindus and is trying to promote love jihad. “By setting a romantic love story against the backdrop of a huge tragedy that occurred at Kedarnath, a centre of faith for crores of Hindus, the filmmakers have shown great disrespect to the followers of the religion,” Ajendra Ajay, who is part of the state BJP’s media relations team, told PTI.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film is scheduled for release on December 7 this year.
"I have seen Dhadak and I loved it. She was so good in the film. We all are here to do our job. I hope I also get love for my work,” Sara Ali Khan said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
"Sushant Singh Rajput has worked very hard for the film. He has actually done a Pithu's work,” director Abhishek Kapoor said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
"I was studying 2-3 years back. My father was like first finish your studies and then take up acting. My parents always trusted me and supported me. But the decision to do this film was mine," Sara Ali Khan said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
"Abhishek Kapoor wants to try different things. The one consistent thing about him is that he brings out the best in you. The intensity to work with him again has only increased,” Sushant Singh Rajput said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
“Both my actors are extremely talented. This is Sara’s first time, but she is great. She really took to the character. She didn't want to be launched. She wanted to be a part of the film. When the intensity of our conversations increased, I knew she has a lot of talent. My favourite part about her is that while I am crazy on sets, she remains calm at all times,” director Abhishek Kapoor said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
"After watching this film, my objectivity is safe. I work earnestly and honestly. We actors really like to get surprised and Sara was just that. She is extremely talented,” Sushant Singh Rajput said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
“The good part about doing really good movies is that you don't have to think a lot before being a part of such films. Once you over think, the film is not good,” producer Ronnie Screwvala said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
“I would like to thank all for being so warm and welcoming. I have not done anything to deserve it. I am not nervous as I have been feeling warmly welcomed all this while,” Sara Ali Khan said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
"There were many difficulties while doing Kedarnath. It is only because of God that every difficulty was solved. Uttarakhand faced the biggest calamity in 2003. And the way the people of this state worked towards coming out of it, is remarkable. There were many stories from this calamity. It was a different India. I wanted to tell a story from here. With my story, I hope the society is moved," director Abhishek Kapoor said at the trailer launch of Kedarnath.
