Legendary Ferrari F40 Reimagined Using Brand’s Current Styling Cues

As one of the most fascinating Ferraris ever made, the F40 will forever be seen as a benchmark for future models from Maranello.

When it launched in 1987, it was the world’s fastest street-legal production car. Even when Ferrari stopped making it in 1992 it was still the brand’s fastest, most powerful and most expensive model. Its appeal grew further thanks to the fact that it was the last Ferrari automobile personally approved by Enzo Ferrari

The Pininfarina design reflected its race car performance: to this day the F40 remains one of the most easily recognizable Ferraris. Now, the F40’s huge fan base also includes independent designer Samir Sadikhov, who set out to create a modern-day version.

His stunning Ferrari F40 Tribute is a personal design exercise that aims to keep the spirit of the original car alive. It does that by incorporating F40 design cues into Ferrari’s current design language. Sadikhov spent more than a year working on the exterior and interior design, something that’s not surprising looking at the renderings.

The F40 Tribute looks simply amazing and it could trick anyone into thinking it’s an official Ferrari project — Samir Sadikhov even took the time to design the monocoque structure in great detail.

The cockpit looks breathtaking as well thanks to its airplane-style steering wheel, intertwined seats, and overall minimalist appearance. Given the amount of hard work and inspiration that went into the F40 Tribute, it’s a shame we may never get to see it built. Still, maybe a millionaire sees it and decides to commission it to Ferrari or Pininfarina. Who knows?
