Last rites to be performed tomorrow

Union Minister for parliamentary Affairs and senior BJP leader H.N. Ananth Kumar passed away in Bengaluru today due to complications following Cancer and injections related to it. He was in ICU and on ventilator since last few days.

A pall of gloom descended in city after the news of his death. His mortal remains is kept in his residence and will be shifted to the BJP office in Bengaluru tomorrow morning before being shifted to National College grounds for the public to pay their last respects.

The six time Member of Parliament from Bengaluru South Lok Sabha seat Ananth Kumar passed away at around 2.00 am in the early morning today. The 59 years old departed leader is survived by wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and two daughters.

Holding the portfolio of Chemicals and Fertilisers in the present cabinet, he had also served as Civil Aviation, Tourisam and Urban Development Minister in the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayye Government. Several leaders from state BJP including B.S. Yeddyurappa, Sadananda Gowda and R. Ashok paid their homage to the departed soul at his residence. Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy also paid his respects by visiting the residence of Ananth Kumar.

The cremation is scheduled on Tuesday afternoon at ground 1.00pm. The Sate Government has announced one day holiday as a mark of respect to the departed soul and three days mourning. Flags are flying at half mast and people are seen paying their tribute to the departed leader across the state.
