KOCHI: The government is just using Sabarimala temple as a 'milch cow' and that is the reason why government and Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) are ignoring the customs and traditions of the temple, said Prayar Gopalakrishnan, former TDB president at a news meet held in Kochi on Saturday.
TDB does not even understand the rights that it have and its president A Padmakumar is merely obeying the commands of the government, he said. Everyone, including ministers or even the President of the country, is supposed to follow the customs and traditions of the temple, Gopalakrishnan added.
Rahu Easwer, president of Ayyappa Dharma Sena, said if the TDB uses money of the Sabarimala temple for the case by taking a stand that supports the entry of women of all age group, then the devotees will start an explicit campaign against them.
On 48-hour validity of parking pass for devotees, Hindu Aikya Vedi state general secretary R V Babu said how can a government decide how long a devotee should stay at the temple.
