Days after a 48-year-old NRI businessman died after he fell off the terrace of Taj Mansingh hotel, the Delhi Police conducted his post-mortem on Saturday and handed over the body to his family. Relatives have not alleged any foul play, and police have closed their investigation after recording the statements of hotel staff and examining CCTV footage.

Police said the deceased, Narrender A Mangalam, was a resident of Maryland, US. Initial investigation revealed the man, in an inebriated condition, went to relieve himself on the terrace garden, where prima facie it appears he lost his balance and fell, a senior police officer said.

“His body was found around 11.45 pm on November 7,” the officer added. His mother, who lives in Bengaluru, as well as family members from the US reached Delhi on Saturday morning. ENS
