Samsung Exynos 9820 flagship processor is tipped to debut on November 14
Samsung is apparently planning to launch the Exynos 9820, its next flagship processor this month. The company in its Samsung Exynos Twitter account shared a teaser image that reveals a quote “Intelligence from within” along with the date November 14. The teaser image hints that the tech giant might introduce its next-generation flagship processor next week. “Think next #TheNextExynos,” the tweet reads.
According to reports, Samsung Exynos 9820 processor will be based on a 7nm process. The proprietary chipset is said to have significant improvements over its predecessor Exynos 9810 SoC. The Exynos 9820 chipset will have ‘tri-cluster arrangement’ quite similar to Huawei’s flagship Kirin 980 SoC and support 5G, as per reports. The upcoming Samsung chipset is also said to come with dual NPU (neural processing units) to handle AI-related tasks efficiently.

Previous reports have suggested that one of the clusters on Exynos 9820 will be made of two custom Mongoose M4 cores, the second cluster of Cortex-A76 cores and a third cluster will be made of Cortex-A55 cores. The tipster Ice Universe claimed that Samsung’s in-house Mongoose M4 performance core will render a performance that is “far beyond” than that of ARM’s Cortex-A76. The new Samsung chipset is said to have a Mali-G76 GPU for graphics rendition. The next generation Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC will likely compete with Huawei’s HiSilicon 980, Apple A12 Bionic chip and Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8150 chipset. All of these chipsets are fabricated on a 7nm process.
