BENGALURU : A city-based advocate, who allegedly molested a 14-year-old girl at her aunt’s house in Koramangala, has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The teenager’s mother, in her complaint, claimed that Girish, a resident of Koramangala, touched her daughter inappropriately.
Police said the girl lives at her aunt’s house, where the incident occurred. The advocate, who knew the teenager’s aunt, had visited the house in her absence. He allegedly took the girl to the bathroom and sexually abused her, the complainant said.
The advocate had allegedly threatened her daughter against complaining about him to anybody. Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the advocate. His mobile phone is switched off.
“Police claim they are making every effort to trace and arrest the man, but we have seen him at his another residence in Ramamurthynagar,” the teenager’s aunt told STOI.
Police, however, said their visit to Girish’s Ramamurthynagar residence was futile. “His car was parked outside the apartment but we couldn’t find him,” an investigating officer said.
