COLVA: Seby D’Souza, resident of Anjuna, has lodged a counter complaint against two PSIs, Duttaprasad Toraskar and Raunak Kadam, and 15-20 others alleging that they brutally assaulted his son, Lester, and wife, Tina, at the Fatorda stadium on November 8, after the conclusion of the ISL match between FC Goa and Delhi Dynamos. A copy of the complaint has been submitted to the DGP.
Lester, 20, was admitted in a private hospital at Mapusa on Saturday morning after he suffered seizures. Seby told STOI that the doctors have advised that all tests and even a MRI scan be carried out.

Seby, in his complaint, reiterated what he had explained to TOI on Friday, that after the match, on their way out, they started clicking photographs when a security officer “arrogantly” asked them to leave. As they continued to click pictures after telling the police officer that they were going to leave, the officer brought along another security personnel, who they were later told, was PSI Kadam.

“Kadam abused us and threatened to teach us a lesson. Then, three more security personnel came and all of them began pushing us violently. As the personnel were pushing Tina, our son, Lester, resisted. Raunak assaulted Tina with a blow to her left eye, due to which her eye was bruised and swollen,” Seby’s complaint stated.

“When Lester questioned the PSI, Kadam slapped our son twice on the face. PSI Toraskar stepped out of the football ground and opened the fencing gate. Toraskar, along with another personnel, pushed Lester from behind on to the ground. Toraskar was heard suggesting that Lester should be taken inside the fencing and given a beating,” Seby stated.

His complaint further stated that as PSIs Toraskar and Kadam, along with other security personnel, were dragging ester onto the football field, he and Tina ran behind them. “We saw that our son, Lester, was repeatedly being assaulted by PSIs Toraskar, Kadam and others with fist blows on his neck, face, abdomen, back and other parts of the body and they even tried to choke him,” said Seby, adding, “When I pleaded with Toraskar not to beat our son, he told me he was from Taleigao and nobody will be able to do anything about it. They continued to ruthlessly assault our son till he fell unconscious on the football ground.”

Fatorda police said they received the complaint and will take a decision on whether to register a FIR only after conducting enquiries.
