Ramdin hoped the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) would help unearth more talent in the years to come.
"I would like to use the Indian Premier League as an example. Indian cricket is so strong in all formats because of the IPL, since young players come through the system. So in five years, hopefully our cricket can take off to that next level, because we have some exciting T20 and 50-overs cricketers," he said.

Ramdin said the spinners will play a key role in Sunday's match.
"There's a system in place. The wickets in WI are similar to India, slow and turning. On this wicket, with the square boundaries a bit bigger, it's important our spinners bowl better tomorrow. On this wicket it is very important that we bowl the right lengths."
Talking about lack of top class fast bowlers from West Indies, which has produed some legendary players such as Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, Ramdin said there were "some good pacemen coming through".
"But they lack in experience because our first-class series is so short. Some guys get injured and some get thrown into the big stage. But our first-class level and international level has a big gap. They still need to get up there in terms of fitness and accuracy."

Ramdin said it was more disappointing that despite being the world T20 champions they could not perform well in shortest format. "We played our first game at Eden Gardens, where we were expecting to do well. But we didn't adapt as well as we should. We didn't string any partnerships either. T20 banks on momentum and partnerships, and we couldn't do that," he said.

The West Indies batsmen struggled to pick chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav and it played a huge role in India's dominant show in all three series, said Ramdin. "Guys haven't been able to pick him, and basically he was been one of the threats in the middle overs and unfortunately we couldn't push on."

17:11(IST)

Chris Gayle and spinner Sunil Narine were among those missing from the West Indies line-up. Dwayne Bravo retired last month from international cricket.  "It's all about having food on the table. The players are good enough to be taken by a team in another part of the world, then I can't stop a player who's out there to improve."

17:04(IST)

"It's difficult to build a team given the current scenario. When you look at our T20 players they are in demand all over the world, so yes, we are suffering in that aspect. Our senior players did not turn up for the tour, and that's one of the reasons why we are 2-0 down in this series," Ramdin said ahead of the third and final T20.

Windies keeper Denesh Ramdin reckons that absence of their top players was a major reason for their defeat in the Twenty20 series against India, who also dominated in the other formats due to excellence of chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav. Barring two ODIs, the Caribbean side was easily crushed by the hosts, who won the Test, the ODI and the Twenty20 series with ease.

India have already gained an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series having won the opening two T20Is quite convincingly. They trounced the visitors by five wickets in Kolkata and then courtesy a record fourth T20I century by Rohit Sharma, sealed the series in Lucknow by 71 runs. With the series already in the bag, it gives India a chance to test out some of their bench strength. The likes of Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar, who have been with the squad since the first T20I can harbour hopes of getting some game time.

The move has been made to keep the trio fresh for India's tour to Australia which begins with a three-match T20I series on 21 November followed by four Tests and three ODIs. The trio is an integral part of the side in all formats and the team management has decided to give them ample rest before the marquee tour begins. "The decision has been made to allow the trio to be in the best physical condition ahead of India’s tour to Australia," read a press release from the BCCI.

16:35(IST)

Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav have been rested for the third Twenty20 International for this match, the BCCI had announced on Friday. Fast bowler Siddarth Kaul has been drafted into the side for the final game of the series.

India will be aiming to complete a clean sweep when they take on a battered West Indies in the third T20 International here Sunday even while looking to test the bench strength. For the cricket loving fans in Chennai, they will certainly miss their 'favourite son' Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is not a part of the T20 squad. Having sealed the series with a comprehensive win in the second T20I at Lucknow riding on skipper Rohit Sharma's brilliant ton, the home team would look to give reserve bench players like Shreyas Iyer, MS Washington Sundar and the uncapped Shahbaz Nadeem an opportunity before it embarks on the tour of Australia.

The selectors decided to rest pacemen Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav for Sunday's game, allow them to be in the best physical condition ahead of the tour to Australia. Medium-pacer Siddarth Kaul has been added to the squad. The pitch at Chepauk has been on the slower side in recent games but the square prepared for Sunday's game is expected to favour the batsmen. Skipper Rohit was at his best during the Lucknow T20I following up his exploits in the preceding ODI series but the other batsmen haven't made sizeable contributions despite facing an inconsistent West Indies attack. The captain's opening partner Shikhar Dhawan, K L Rahul and Rishabh Pant among others would like to have a few more runs under the belt before the Australia tour.

Local star Dinesh Karthik, whose heroics in the Nidahas Trophy finale in Sri Lanka are still fresh in memory, shone as India chased down a modest target in the first match after a mid-innings wobble and will be eager to shine in front of the home crowd. With Bumrah and Kuldeep, who have posed a challenge to the visiting batsmen being rested, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the young Khaleel Ahmed will be expected to form the pace attack and provide early wickets. The spin department may see the return of Yuzvendra Chahal in the absence of Kuldeep while Krunal Pandya will expect to build on an impressive start to his international career. It remains to be seen if the team management chooses to give Chennai man Washington Sundar a go alongside Shreyas Iyer.

The visitors, on the other hand have been at sixes and sevens in the T20s after posing an unexpected challenge to the Indians in the ODIs, especially against the skills of Bumrah and Kuldeep. The absence of regular openers (Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis) and the decision to tinker with the combination at the top hasn't helped their cause either. Skipper Carlos Brathwaite admitted they had to make do with the resources available and the team will aim to end the series with a consolation win. Established names like Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo and Denesh Ramdin haven't fired and the impressive Shimron Hetmyer pushed up the order hasn't found the going easy to add to the Windies' woes.

Among the bowlers, Oshane Thomas has impressed the most with his pace and ability to take wickets but has lacked support from the others. Brathwaite, who rose to fame after smashing Ben Stokes for four sixes in the final over of the 2016 ICC World T20 final in Kolkata, will be eager to showcase his abilities and thereby inspire his men, low on morale, to raise their game against a dominant Indian side in the concluding match of the tour to secure a consolation win.

Squads: India: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Shahbaz Nadeem, Siddarth Kaul.

West Indies: Carlos Brathwaite (Capt), Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Obede McCoy, Keemo Paul, Khary Pierre, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Sherfane Rutherford, Oshane Thomas.
