MOHALI: Villagers have demolished the dam constructed by Ajit Singh Kular, owner of Kular farms in Kubaheri village. At present, the problem of the flow of sewage water is resolved, said additional deputy commissioner (ADC), development, Mohali, Amardeep Singh Bains after visiting the village on Friday.
Bains said he will submit the interim report to deputy commissioner (DC) Gurpreet Sapra on Monday. He said, "At present, the water flow problem is resolved as the villagers have demolished the dam constructed by Ajit Singh Kular to allow water flow. Report on various issues like revenue from tehsildar, water shed construction and common land records are to be scrutinized before taking further decision on the issue. I had met the villagers and also inspected the spot where the dam was constructed by Ajit Singh Kular. The villagers also alleged that there are mango orchards which have been cordoned off by Kular despite the same being a village property. All such allegations are to be verified before reaching any conclusion."
DC Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said, "ADC, development, Amardeep Singh Bains has been directed to find a solution to the problem. He visited Kubaheri village and is yet to submit his report in the issue. Earlier, sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) had submitted the fact-finding report in which he had placed the owner of the Kular farms responsible for obstructing the natural flow of the water, which was strictly against the law. SDM has been further directed to suggest the remedial measures to start the flow of sewage water such that both parties are satisfied."
DC added that the alleged attack by the villagers as well as kidnapping bid of Bahadur Singh by Kular is already under probe by the police department and hence the SDM did not comment on this issue in the fact-finding report.
Earlier, SDM, Kharar Vinod Bansal in his report said the natural flow of sewage water has been obstructed by Ajit Singh Kular which led to the attack by the villagers of Kubaheri village in Majri block, Mohali, on Sunday.
However, Mohali police on November 5 have added the name of Ajit Singh Kular, owner of Kular farms situated at Kubaheri village in Majri block Mohali in the FIR registered against his supporters earlier. The name of the Kular farm owner has been added after villagers gave representation to Mohali police and Deputy Commissioner demanding justice. The villagers of Kubaheri village have also demanded the quashing of FIR registered against them by the Mohali police.
Mohali police said through investigations it has been established that during the fallout between the two groups, Ajit Singh Kular was also present. Hence, along with five supporters his name has also been added in the FIR.
