2 unidentified bodies found in separate cases

Mangaluru: The body of an unidentified man, with his face wrapped with tape and neck tied with a rope, was found near Guripalla Cross at Ujire in Belthangady, around 67 km from here on Saturday night.

Police from the Belthangady station said on Sunday evening that they were yet to identify the body.


It is suspected that the man, aged around 29, was murdered in some other place and his body disposed of at Guripalla.


A case has been registered at the Belthangady police station in this regard.


In another case reported from Puttur, the body of an unidentified woman was retrieved from the lake belonging to Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple. Police said the body has been sent in order to conduct an autopsy, adding that details about the woman were yet to be ascertained.
